Hold on to your steering wheels there's a new motoring makeover show gearing up to take Netflix by storm.

Resurrected Rides, the latest auto-revamping extravaganza, is being fired up by the original masterminds behind the legendary MTV hit series Pimp My Ride. Viewers can be expected to be wowed by an eight-episode joyride that promises to reimagine clapped-out clunkers into eye-popping roadsters.

Netflix teases that Resurrected Rides will bring a hilarious spin to vehicular transformations, crafting a contemporary homage to Pimp My Ride while treating viewers to spellbinding car revivals.

This is what we know about Resurrected Rides.

What is Resurrected Rides about?

Resurrected Rides will see motorists roll into the garage with their worn-out vehicles for customisation and a new lease of life.

Viewers will see how the vehicles will be transformed step-by-step by the show's mechanics - anything from a new paint job, upgrade interiors, or alter ride height.

Netflix says Resurrected Rides aims to combine the charm of Pimp My Ride "with modern automotive artistry to help deserving owners transform their beloved beaters into roadworthy masterpieces".

Saturday Night Live star and comedian Chris Redd will host the series with his team of genius mechanics transforming vehicles.

What does the cast say about the new series?

"We took an iconic concept and gave it a fresh twist, all while helping people along the way," host Chris Redd said. "Plus, we got to roast, prank, and even 'steal' folks' cars on a show budget! This show truly has it all!"

Rick Hurvitz, the co-creator of the iconic "Pimp My Ride," which graced MTV from 2004 to 2007, is back in the executive producer's chair for the series, alongside Brandon Killion, Ari Shofet, and Mike Odair.

"This is an aspirational and wish-fulfillment show with a comedic lens, and we're excited to give deserving folks a mind-blowing automotive makeover," executive producer Ari Shofet enthused.

"We took the spirit and knowledge from the original [series] and reimagined it with a hilarious host, brand-new cast, plus the eye-popping technology and culture of today," Rick Hurvitz, who also produced Pimp My Ride with Shofet, elaborated on the new direction.
