Coronation Street’s Beth Tinker is due to say her goodbyes to the soap - and it’s not looking good for the beloved character.

Beth (Lisa George) first burst into the cobbles in 2011. Known for her nosy attitude and outspoken behaviour, it didn’t take long for Beth to become a favourite with viewers.

The factory worker has also played a part in several big storylines, from the tragic death of niece Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) to her own relationship with Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment).

However, late last year, it was reported that Lisa was leaving the soap and is set to exit this summer in a “dramatic” storyline.

At the time, Lisa claimed she had signed a new contract - but in June this year, The Sun confirmed that she had finished filming, with Lisa hosting a farewell get-together with her Coronation Street colleagues.

And now, ahead of her exit, fans have ‘worked out’ how the beloved resident will leave. Over in the soap this week, Beth was left fuming at boss Carla Connor (Alison King) for letting Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), who is on work experience, do whatever she likes.

Unbeknownst to Beth, Carla was being blackmailed by the youngster after she saw her knock over a thug who had hassled pal Roy Cropper (David Neilson).

Later on, Betsy saw Beth let herself into the factory and followed her. And much to the shock of Beth, Betsy caught her conjuring up dodgy gear from the factory.

Now, fans reckon this will tie-in with her exit which could see Beth get sent to prison. On X, one person said: “Is this Beth's exit storyline then? Gets caught making hooky gear?”

Someone else added: “Is this Beth's exit storyline FINALLY starting?” A third penned: “Is Beth gonna leave the show in a prison cell?”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
