The Thick Of It is one of the most iconic British sitcoms, so it's no surprise that fans are eager to know what the cast has been doing since the show ended.

BBC Two will be broadcasting the beginning of the third season of this classic comedy on Wednesday, July 17.

A new MP is appointed to the Department of Social Affairs and Citizenship, but spin doctor Malcolm Tucker (played by Peter Capaldi) has no clue who she is.

As season three gets a rerun, here's everything you need to know about where the cast of The Thick Of It is now.

Malcolm Tucker was the foul-mouthed and manipulative former Director of Communications at Number 10.

Even though he was no longer in power, he remained highly skilled in political coercion, all while insulting everyone around him.

He was played by Scottish actor and director Peter Capaldi, who later took on the role of the 12th incarnation of the Time Lord in the BBC sci-fi drama Doctor Who.

Nicola Murray - Rebecca Front

Nicola Murray was the idealistic politician who wouldn't take no for an answer and had previously been ousted as leader of the opposition, thanks to Malcolm.

Actress Rebecca Front portrayed Nicola and has since starred in several other hit series such as Inspector Lewis, Psychobitches, Up The Women, Humans, Poldark and most recently, Avenue 5.

Ollie Reeder - Chris Addison

Actor, comedian and writer Chris Addison, known for his regular appearances on Mock The Week and his lecture-style comedy shows on BBC Radio 4, has mostly transitioned to directing since his role in The Thick Of It.

He's worked on popular shows such as Veep, Fresh Off The Boat, The Hustle and Breeders.

In The Thick Of It, Addison portrayed the ambitious and morally dubious Ollie Reeder, who served as the director of communications and political advisor to the leader of the opposition.

Terri Coverley - Joanna Scanlan

Joanna Scanlan played Terri Coverley, the professional yet prudish head of press relations often left to handle the department's bad press.

Scanlan is also known for her role as the wholesome Ma Larkin in ITV's The Larkins with Bradley Walsh.

Her other credits include No Offence, Big School, Hold The Sunset, Gentleman Jack and Wicked Little Letters, and she has upcoming roles in Slow Horses and Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.

Glenn Cullen - James Smith

Smith went on to star in Boomers, The Great, Gen V and the Oscar-winning film The Favourite.

Doug Hayes - Pearce Quigley

Labour politician Doug Hayes was portrayed by actor Pearce Quigley, who recently took on the role of Gospel John in Netflix's The Gentleman.

Some of his other most notable roles have been in Detectorists, In The Dark, Lovesick, Housebound and Rovers.

Ed - Rory Kinnear

Actor Rory Kinnear was behind Labour Party press officer Ed Atkins in The Thick Of It.

Nowadays, he is best associated with James Bond films Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, the series Penny Dreadful, Black Mirror and The Diplomat.
