Netflix Virgin River's Alexandra Breckenridge says co-star has 'become a new person'

Virgin River Holiday Episodes: Teaser trailer

Virgin River's Alexandra Breckenridge has gushed over her co-star Lauren Hammersley, revealing she's become a "new person" and has "blossomed" since they first met.

The 42 year old actress, who plays Mel in the hit Netflix series, sat down with Lauren, aka Charmaine, for a heart-to-heart on her fresh podcast venture, I Like You Very Much. Co-hosted with fellow Virgin River actress Zibby Allen, who portrays Brie Sheridan, the podcast offers fans intimate chats with their favourite stars from the show.

During the latest episode, Alexandra didn't hold back on her admiration for Lauren, expressing how she's witnessed a remarkable transformation in her friend and colleague over the past five years.

"I've watched your personality, sort of, blossom over time. Over the last five years or whatever it's been. It's almost like you've become a new person," Alexandra remarked.

She continued to laud Lauren, saying: "You've become a different side of yourself. Just in my interactions with you, and your positivity and your appreciation for life. You're really just spearheading your life because it feels like you're inspired by life. I find that to be such a beautiful quality about you."

Lauren, clearly moved by Alexandra's words, quipped in return: "That is so sweet. Thank you. I think it's attention deficit disorder", reports the Mirror.

The podcast, which kicked off in June, sees Alexandra and Zibby engaging in honest discussions with Virgin River cast mates including Martin Henderson, Ben Hollingsworth, Annette O'Toole, and more, giving listeners an insider's look at the lives behind the characters.

The Netflix hit Virgin River has fans buzzing with anticipation for its sixth season, as they eagerly await the return of the beloved series. One Instagram user expressed their excitement: "You don't know how much this podcast is making me look forward to Fridays. Thank you!"

Meanwhile, a third admirer praised the team behind the scenes: "You, @alexandrabreck and @zibbyallen have a huge hit on your hands! ! This podcast was well worth the wait! ! Bravo ladies! ! And thank you for keeping us connected to VR. Excited to see what follows with the cast and you ladies! !"

It's been a long eight months since Virgin River graced our screens with its two-part Christmas special, leaving viewers reeling from its many plot twists. While an official release date for the sixth instalment is yet to be announced, rumours suggest that Virgin River could make its comeback in the first half of 2025.
