EastEnders' Anna Knight faces drink spiking ordeal in huge soap 'first' twist
EastEnders favourite Anna Knight, portrayed by Molly Rainford, is about to face a terrifying ordeal when her drink is spiked in forthcoming distressing scenes.
The harrowing incident will unfold on an episode of the iconic BBC soap airing on Tuesday, July 16, as Anna's evening at Peggy's takes a horrifying turn.
Initially, her friends chalk up Anna's dangerous behaviour to over-drinking and dismiss any real concernn. However, it rapidly becomes apparent that her behaviour doesn't align with the minor amount of alcohol she actually consumed, causing worry among her loved ones.
Seamlessly integrating traditional television and digital technology, for the first time ever, EastEnders is stepping into new territory with a groundbreaking five-part mini-series exclusively available through a QR code feature within the main episode.
Providing a link for viewers choose their preferred platform for viewing, this innovative approach will shift viewer experience, reports the Daily Star.

Further statement from the show added: "As Anna grapples with her detachment from reality, viewers of the mini-series will experience the internal warning signs to look out for when spiked, whereas additional footage captured by Anna's friends will showcase the outward effects the drugs have on her behaviour and mobility."
EastEnders is collaborating with leading charities Stamp Out Spiking and WithYou, as well as industry experts, to ensure the storyline is depicted as accurately and sensitively as possible.

Executive Producer, Chris Clenshaw, commented on the storyline: "With incidents of spiking rising at alarming rates across the UK in recent years, we chose to explore this issue with Anna Knight who represents the demographic most affected by spiking."
"It was imperative for us to work alongside organisations to accurately present, and sensitively portray this storyline, and Molly's [Rainford] performance has thoughtfully demonstrated the dangerous realities of spiking as we look to raise awareness of the warning signs and symptoms to look out for after an individual has been spiked."
