Bargain Hunt taken off air in major BBC schedule shake-up

Bargain Hunt has been pulled from its regular slot today as part of a major schedule change. The beloved BBC One programme, which usually airs at 12.15pm on weekdays, has been bumped to accommodate Wimbledon coverage.

Monday, July 1 marks the start of Wimbledon 2024, with tennis coverage running from 2pm to 6pm on BBC One. As a result, Escape To The Country will also be absent from its usual 3pm slot.

Fear not, Bargain Hunt enthusiasts, the show will return to its usual slot on Thursday, July 4. Thursday's episode synopsis reveals: "Charlie Ross hosts as two teams set out to bag bargains at Detling Antiques Fair in Kent.

"Steph Connell's duo take a while to buy anything, while John Cameron's pair race off to a two-nil lead, but who will pocket the profits at the auction? Charlie monitors event and also heads to nearby Sittingbourne to get hands-on restoring some valuable and glamorous lighting."

The upheaval extends to the early evening BBC schedule, with EastEnders shifted to different timeslots and The One Show, hosted by Alex Jones, Jermaine Jenas, and Roman Kemp, cancelled for the entire week.

This makes way for the tennis, ongoing Euro 2024 coverage, and the general election. The One Show will resume its regular programming on Monday, July 8, reports Yorkshire Live.
