British icon says he'll 'be in trouble' as he breaks silence on joining BBC's Strictly
A Netflix star has broken his silence after 'confirming' that he is set to appear on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. While the official roster of celebrities hasn't been revealed yet, rumours have been swirling around those set to take part.
One of the names dropped into the hat for the BBC show's 2024 lineup is Dave Fishwick - the subject of Netflix series Bank of Dave, starring Rory Kinnear.
Dave, 53, appeared on BBC Breakfast on Sunday (June 23), where he addressed the claims. Host Roger Johnson about his ability to dance, to which he replied: "No, I can't."

It's been rumoured. It's been talked about a lot."
Dave flashed a smile as he broke his silence and replied: "I can't possibly comment, I would be in real trouble. No I can't comment on that at all."

Dave continued: "Listen no, I would be in so much trouble then, I really would. There's rumours, there's definitely rumours. Big ones, yeah. I can't possibly comment at all."
It comes as it was previously reported that Dave "couldn't wait to get started" as it's a "dream come true" to appear on the BBC dance show. A TV insider told the press: "Dave is a real community hero and the best of British.
"Strictly think his inspiring backstory will win him new fans and shine a spotlight on the amazing work he has done for people and business in Lancashire. Dave has told his friends he has accepted and cannot wait to get started.

Dave made his fortune selling minibuses before going on to set up a community bank lending out his own money following the 2008 crash.
Burnley Savings and Loans was set up the same year, helping people in the Lancashire town who were struggling to get loans following the banking crisis. Over the years, Dave has lent £27m to people and businesses to get their ideas off the ground, with all profits going back into supporting others.
