Crystal Palace star Jeffrey Schlupp couldn’t resist the opportunity to rub salt into the wounds of a Manchester United supporter following his side’s sensational victory on Monday night. The Eagles cruised to an emphatic victory at Selhurst Park to pile further pressure on Erik ten Hag.

Palace have turned a corner since the appointment of Oliver Glasner, with the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt manager breathing a new lease of life into his squad by implementing a new system which has got the very best out of his attacking outlets.

The improvement was clear to see on Monday night, as well as the weaknesses within the United ranks. Michael Olise opened the scoring for Palace with a brilliant solo goal before Jean-Phillippe Mateta smashed his effort past Andre Onana before halftime.

Tyrick Mitchell then put the game to bed in the 58th minute from close range before Olise bagged his brace with a curling effort into the top corner to put the cherry on top for the high-flying Eagles.

Spirits are understandably high within the Palace ranks, and Schlupp could not help but take aim at United-supporting YouTuber Morgan Burtwistle, better known as AngryGinge, when meeting the social media star after full-time.

In footage shared by Sky Sports, Schlupp was congratulated by YouTuber Specs Gonzalez at full-time before being introduced to a defeated-looking Burtwistle. After noticing the YouTuber’s United beanie, the Ghana international said: “Not too happy man, hold that!”

The 31-year-old’s remark left Palace-supporting social media influencer Andres Felipe Barrientos (Yung Filly) in stitches, with Schlupp promptly saying his goodbyes to the trio to a chorus of laughter – besides from Burtwistle, who is unlikely to be in a hurry to sign Schlupp to his viral EA FC 24 Pro Clubs team ‘Girth N Turf’ any time soon as a result.

AngryGinge, along with YungFilly, have founded a viral online team made up of famous faces from up and down the country, and they have understandably taken the internet by storm as a result. Ex-United skipper Wayne Rooney is among the team’s latest signings, leading the line for ‘Girth N Turf’ alongside darts sensation Luke Littler.

The team has seen a resurgence in the Pro Clubs game mode and they have taken on several footballer-based sides as a result, including Trent Alexander-Arnold’s team and a club made up of a handful of Everton players.
