ITV Emmerdale double 'exit' as fans plead for soap to get rid of 'vile' characters

Emmerdale: Vinny tells Belle and Tom he has lost their dog

Emmerdale could see a double exit on the cards after fans pleaded with soap bosses to "get rid" of two characters. Monday night's hour-long instalment was drama-filled for both the Dingles and the King family. Not only did Ruby (played by Beth Cordingly) cause more friction between her husband Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) and his brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), but Tom King (James Chase) also ramped up his controlling and coercive behaviour.

Towards the end of the episode, there was more drama in the pub and Caleb finally told his brother that they were no longer family and he was going to stop making an effort.

Meanwhile, Tom showed his dark side to Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) after he told him to leave his wife Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) alone. To make matters even worse, Vinny ended up losing Belle's new dog when he was out taking her for a walk.

And while this caused the duo to fall out, little did they know that it was Tom who had taken the dog and had her locked up at the vet's surgery. Fans were left so angry by the episode that some claimed to "switch off", while others want Ruby and Tom to "run away" together.

Taking to X, one fan said: Get rid #Emmerdale of Tom. We've had enough and need some welcome joy. You're killing it and I give it 3 years." (sic)

"I can’t watch #emmerdale whilst Tom is still in it he is VILE and makes me so angry," another fumed.

A third pleaded: "Make it stop ffs #Emmerdale."

"And turns the TV off! #Emmerdale so cringe," a fourth went on while a fifth added: "How much longer have we got to put up with Psycho Tom and Psycho Ruby."

Someone else pleaded: "Insecure Tom should run away with rancid ruby.#Emmerdale."

"Belle, have you seen Piper?" Vinny asked in a panic.

"What do you mean?" Belle asked as Vinny explained: "I have kind of lost her, well not lost her I just don't know where she is."

"Are you serious?" Tom chipped in as a worried Vinny said: "I don't understand it.

"I left them outside, tied them up, went in the cabin, I was two minutes tops."

As Belle questioned whether Vinny's dog was still there, Tom began to get angry despite knowing where Piper was all along.

"You can't have tied her up properly," Tom accused as Belle sobbed: "We have only just got her, she doesn't know her surroundings."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
