, who has teamed up with X Factor star Lucy Spraggan, appeared on sofa to chat about their new project. The Britain's Got Talent judge also discussed the success of The X Factor and whether it could make a return to screens.

As hosts Ronan Keating and Alex Jones introduced their guests, they were quick to point out it was the first time Simon had appeared on the show.

"It's lovely to have you on the sofa," Ronan began before adding: "Simon, you don't normally do this sort of show."

"Occasionally," Simon laughed. "I think it's been a while."

Explaining why he was there, the music mogul continued: "I'm here because I'm very passionate about something at the moment."

"And that is a record Lucy wrote," he added as he turned to the pop star.

"And I heard this song in...when was it August?

"And honestly, you know me about songs, when I hear a great song it's one of those things, you never forget where you are when you hear a great song for the first time.

"And I promise you when I heard this song for the first time, it was one of those moments."

However, just minutes into the show, viewers became distracted by Simon's appearance, with many airing their concerns on Twitter.

Some even claimed the star looked unrecognisable.

Airing her concern, Sarah wrote: "Just had the #TheOneShow on and Simon Cowell looks nothing like his original self. I’m not here to slate but to alter your face to that extent screams of some concerning mental health problems."

"WTF is this the same person Simon Cowell," user @ihnewman asked.

Viewer Freddie also questioned whether the BGT star was "unwell".

While Danny quizzed: "What’s happened to his face?"

Christopher went on to say: "What's happened to Simon Cowell."

Gareth replied: "I'm not sure, but I don't think he looks anything like Simon Cowell."

Marsey Gordo said: "He's lost some weight!"

"Wow, he looks so different," user @engteachervng pointed out.

Although, viewer Gareth Blackwood complimented Simon's appearance, by tweeting: "Don’t know what skin products Simon Cowell uses but he’s looking great here. The Peter Pan of Pop."
