Cooler but still sunny during the day, Montenegro is a great holiday idea in November. You can get active, hiking and visiting the local towns and countryside. The destination is also an invitation to step back in time, especially around Boka Bay, with its preserved medieval towns of Kotor and Perast.

Another wonderful destination for a short break in November is Andalusia in southern Spain. Start with Cádiz, a charming place hanging off the edge of Spain. Then, of course, there are the beach clubs of Marbella, and beyond, the Sierra de las Nieves national park with swimming in natural rock pools and kayaking on the dam!

Across the Atlantic, in November, the Caribbean is basking in a mellow, pre-Christmas glow.
