The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina has transformed its rooms and suites after three years of extensive renovation. Partnering with Dubai-based agency Stickman Tribe for the design concept, the new look has taken the rooms from traditional to modern, while maintaining the brand’s mission to provide guests with high standards of luxury and comfort.
The new design concept was centered around the idea of two personalities created just for the brand, Penelope and George. Penelope, designed to work for Deluxe and Westin Club rooms categories, showcases killer curves with clean lines and feminine details, mixing a colour pallet of light natural textures with bold, bright and daring patterns and its signature curved headboard that draws the eye towards the bed. George, designed for the Deluxe Suites, Family Suites, and the Penthouse exudes effortless luxury with classical details in contemporary form. The retro high-end feeling is delivered through folded collar-like headboards in rich leather textures and modern wing-back accent chairs. The mix of high ceiling fabric and low layer dark coving on the walls are balanced with contemporary lighting to draw it all together.
The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina boasts 294 rooms under 15 categories, all of which now exhibit the brand’s modern focus on elegance, sophistication, and contemporary design. The rooms also feature progressive technology, from state-of-the-art climate control systems from Schneider, Terim fridges (that contain bottles of still and sparkling BE WTR from the hotel’s on-site water bottle plant, as a reminder of the hotel’s commitment towards sustainability), as well as high-definition televisions with seamless connectivity in every room category.
The project was overseen by Marcos Cain, founder of Stickman Tribe, who said: “The brief was to bring life and atmosphere back into the spaces, cultivating a timeless guest experience while also creating a sense of fun. The project was to feel luxurious and elevated in a resort environment where tourists and locals can meet, reside and play. We wanted to play on the iconic architecture, repositioning it as a private “mansion”. This concept provided rich substance to apply to the interior design concept, whereby each space became a corner of the mansion or manor i.e., the foyer, the conservatory, the farmhouse, the butler room etc. Similarly, the guestrooms were designed with individual themes named after the fictional heirs to the estate, Penelope & George.”
In addition to the refurbished rooms, the hotel, which is known for its beautiful beachfront location and award-winning restaurants, also features a revamped lounge. The Westin Club Lounge, which overlooks the harbour, now has a glass, neonatal-style winter garden, alongside chic leather furnishings, and a new checkered marble floor, which can be enjoyed – along with exclusive F&B perks – by anyone who books a club room or suite category room.
