Turkish Airlines is adding more flights from Manchester to Istanbul this summer, owing to increased passenger demand.
The carrier, which currently operates three flights per day between the two cities, plans to add an additional four services (one per day on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) from 19 May.
This will increase the number of weekly flights from Manchester to 25 flights during the peak summer season.
The airline will also add four flights per week from Birmingham to Istanbul from June, as well as four additional flights from London Gatwick to the Turkish city – meaning the carrier will operate 112 weekly flights between London and Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines will also operate three additional weekly flights between Edinburgh and Istanbul this summer, with a total of ten flights per week between the two cities.
Manchester airport’s general manager, Serhat Gök, said:
“Turkish Airlines’ four additional weekly flights to Istanbul will meet the expected rise in demand from customers keen to visit Türkiye’s top tourism destination during the summer.
‘As a culturally rich city where east meets west, Istanbul is incredibly popular with British and European travellers…
“Adding further weekly flights will give customers more opportunities to visit one of Türkiye’s most popular spots for travellers keen to immerse themselves in its rich history and culture.”
This news comes ahead of the airline’s inaugural route from Istanbul to Melbourne, launching on 1 March.
