LATAM is painting a series of planes in the colours of the national flags of South American countries where its subsidiaries operate domestic flights.

The five specially painted aircraft will be unveiled throughout the year, starting with LATAM Airlines Brasil’s A320neo aircraft in shades of green and yellow which debuted earlier this week.

Designed at the Sao Carlos base in Sao Paulo – the largest maintenance centre of the LATAM Airlines group – the plane features the existing LATAM logo but with modified colours and tail fin.

This plane will be followed by planes inspired by the flag colours of Colombia, Chile, Peru and finally, Ecuador.

Martin St. George, commercial and marketing vice president of LATAM Airlines Group, commented:

“Through this initiative, the group’s companies seek to further deepen the ties with each of the territories where they operate, highlighting the pride of the origins of all the collaborators who mobilise the LATAM Airlines group and reinforcing the connectivity offered by the group to people in their countries, in the region and in the world.

“The LATAM Airlines group is made up of a composition of the cultures of South America, diversity is an essential part of the group and this initiative is a way to honour and embrace differences, because we know that it is a great wealth of the region.”

The airline group currently has 332 passenger aircraft in its fleet, comprising 56 Boeing aircraft (models 767, 777 and 787) and 256 Airbus aircraft (models A319, A320, A320neo, A321 and A321neo).

We recently travelled with LATAM on the airline’s inaugural route from London Heathrow to Lima in Peru, although the service (which launched in December 2023) has since been suspended.
