The Motor City Machine Guns are your new WWE Tag Team Champions, winning the titles on this week’s Smackdown. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin defeated The Bloodline in the main event of tonight’s show, capturing the championships in their second week as WWE stars.
The team faced #DIY in their scheduled #1 contenders match on tonight’s show, picking up the win to earn a title shot. The Bloodline then game down to the ring to confront the Machine Guns and Nick Aldis came to the ring to get between them. Solo Sikoa welcomed the Guns to Smackdown and offered them a title match then and there. Aldis said he wanted the Guns to have a fair shot at the titles and the Guns said they would take the shot then.
The match saw Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns get involved as they brawled with Sikoa and Jacob Fatu into the back. Jey Uso came out during a ref bump in a mask and got involved, taking out both champions which led to the Guns getting the win and the titles.
This obviously marks the team’s first title reign in WWE and ends The Bloodline’s reign at 85 days. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga won the titles for The Bloodline on the August 2nd episode of Smackdown, defeating #DIY.
