– During a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, WWE Superstar AJ Styles discussed wrestling Cody Rhodes for the title at WWE Backlash France. It will be the first time both men face each other in their careers. He stated the following (via Fightful):
“Well, it’s definitely new. That’s always good, especially when you’ve been doing it for 25 years, that likely doesn’t happen. When I got to WWE, Cody was there. He left and now he’s back, we never had that opportunity to get in the ring with each other. He’s such a star right now, it’s ridiculous. It’s fun to be in the same ring, doing it for the first time, and it’s in a different country. It ranks pretty high up there.”
AJ Styles challenges Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship later today at WWE Backlash France. The event is currently streaming live on Peacock.
