As previously reported, MLW will crown new World Tag Team Champions at Azteca Lucha after the belts were vacated. The previous holders, Davey Boy Smith and Tom Lawlor, were stripped of the belts after an injury angle was done with Lawlor.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the angle was done because Lawlor has a schedule conflict. Lawlor had commitments to NJPW that will require him to miss several MLW events. However, he’s scheduled to return at Battle Riot on June 1 in Atlanta.
