Swerve Strickland is the new AEW World Champion, capturing the title from Samoa Joe in the main event of AEW Dynasty. Strickland defeated Joe in the main event of Sunday’s PPV to win the title and become the first Black man to hold the company’s top championship. Strickland pinned Joe with a double stomp off the top rope to get the win and the title.
This marks Strickland’s first World Title reign and ends Joe’s reign at 114 days. Joe won the title from MJF at AEW Worlds End.
