The Miz was a big fan of The Undertaker making an appearance in the main event of WrestleMania 40 night two. The Dead Man appeared during the Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes match to take out The Rock, delivering a chokeslam to him and then vanishing. While some fans were surprised that Taker made the appearance and not Steve Austin, who had a long rivalry with The Rock, Miz said on The Pat McAfee Show that he loved Undertaker being the person to appear.
“You got to see everything,” Miz said (h/t to Wrestling Inc). “The fact people were like, ‘I want to see ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.’ I loved that it was the Undertaker, because the Undertaker is the locker room leader, is the person that if he puts a stamp on you, that means more than everything as a WWE Superstar.”
He concluded, “And the fact that Undertaker was out there to help Cody Rhodes says, ‘Hey, we have a new face. We have a new era and this is Cody Rhodes’ era.'”
Rhodes defeated Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the match.
