As previously reported, AEW Dynamite Grand Slam was down in both viewership and ratings, even if it was the top show of the night in the demo. The show pulled in 1,039,000 viewers with an 0.35 (458,000 viewers) in the key 18-49 demo. It also had a 0.28 in 18-34. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has a full look at the numbers, including a breakdown of each individual quarter-hour.

With the four networks running season premieres, network viewership was up 52% in viewers and 54% in 18-49 from last week. In spite of this, AEW still kept a million viewers in all eight quarter-hours, with Q1 performing the best in viewership and Q3 performing the best in 18-49. Although it should be noted last year’s Grand Slam also went against network premieres and still performed better than this year did. Compared to last year, Grand Slam was down 18.4% in viewers, down 27% in 18-49 and down 7% in 18-34.

Compared to last week it’s less severe, as it was down 11.6% in viewers, down 10.2% in 18-49 and down 5.7% in 18-34.

Dynamite did have a good number in women 18-34, which was actually tied with Smackdown and better than RAW. Dynamite also beat RAW in 18-34 overall, although RAW had stronger competition.

Dynamite was #1 on cable, beating Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (1,124,000; 0.32). It was #3 with women 18-49, #1 in men 18-49, #1 n 18-34, #1 in women 12-34 and #1 in men 12-34. It had 109,000 viewers in men 18-34 (down 19.9%), 91,000 in women 18-34 (up 19.7%), 185,000 in men 35-49 (down 16.3%) and 73,000 in women 35-49 (down 5.2%). The audience was 64.2% male in 18-49. The show had an 0.18 in 12-17 (down 5.3% from last week), 0.28 in 18-34 (down 5.7%), 0.42 in 35-49 (down 13.4%) and 0.46 in 50+ (down 8%).
