Bernd Wiesberger remains in limbo after appealing his ban from the PGA Tour. The Austrian is one of a number of players who was ineligible from returning to PGA events after competing in the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league.
That is despite Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton’s returning to the DP World Tour under appeal of their fines. The duo have been allowed to compete on the tour having appealed against the sanctions imposed on them for competing in non-sanctioned LIV Golf events - with Wiesberger unhappy at that scenario.
Rahm and Hatton are now in contention to play in the 2025 Ryder Cup. That will help them to tick off events they need to compete in to win back their Tour membership - but it is unclear if Wiesberger will be afforded the same opportunity.
Wiesberger served a lengthy suspension and LIV Golf paid his reported £1.5million fines so he could return to the DP World Tour earlier this year. Rahm and Hatton may avoid that fate after appealing their fines.

Back in the summer, the 39-year-old revealed he had been banned from the ISCO Championship and Barracuda Championship - PGA Tour-sanctioned events - after learning that former LIV colleague Henrik Stenson had been too.
He tweeted in response to an interview with Stenson: "Same here. Just received a letter by the [PGA Tour] banning me from playing the isco and barracuda. Never been a member either. Who knows what’s going on over there…"
It comes after Stenson told the Mirror: "Richard Bland won the Senior PGA a week ago he found on social media that 'well you aren't going to get any starts on the Champions Tour because you play LIV'.
"I mean Richard has never even been a member of the PGA Tour but just because he plays LIV he is not able to play on the Champions Tour, it is how I understand it.
“Behind the scenes it is not as if everyone is holding hands and singing songs together, so there is still things to be worked out... It has not been ideal, but hopefully brighter minds than us can come to a solution."
Wiesberger also hit out at Rahm and Hatton being allowed to compete on the DP World Tour despite not paying their fines.
“I don’t really like the look of it, purely for the reason that I’ve done all my fines and my sanctions and I wasn’t able to play tournaments on this Tour as a full member,” Wiesberger said at the Irish Open at Royal County Down.
“I was going to play the Barracuda Championship and this Tour was unable to get me in the field because it was a co-sanctioned event (with the PGA Tour), which left a pretty sour taste in my mouth.
