British Open runner-up Billy Horschel withdraws on first day of 3M Open with illness

Billy Horschel, who tied for second at last week’s British Open after holding the 54-hole lead, withdrew from the 3M Open on Thursday morning due to illness. Horschel shot 3-under 68 in last Sunday’s final round at Royal Troon and finished tied for second with Justin Rose, two strokes behind Xander Schauffle. Horschel finished 13th in last year’s event at the TPC Twin Cities.
