Ludvig Aberg, the rising star of golf, has been confirmed as the latest addition to Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's innovative golf league, TGL. Despite only turning professional last June, Aberg has quickly climbed into the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking, thanks to victories on both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour within just 11 months.
Aberg is now set to take on indoor golf, having pledged to join the TGL setup following the recent loss of Jon Rahm to LIV. TGL is due to officially launch next January after its 2024 season was postponed due to damage to its SoFi Center home in Florida.
Aberg will join 'The Bay Golf Club', the newest franchise of TGL, alongside US Open champion Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee and Shane Lowry. The new franchise is managed by ex-Milwaukee Bucks owner Marc Lasry, with Golden State Warriors stars Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodala also participating.

Indeed, the inclusion of Aberg proved significant for the league's co-founders Woods and McIlroy, who last November faced the loss of former Masters champion Rahm following an eye-watering move to Saudi Arabia-backed LIV.
As for Rahm, he declared a shift in his decision concerning participation in the simulator-based circuit, after vanishing from the league's roster. "I am sad to confirm that I will not be participating in the first TGL season," Rahm expressed via a tweet adding, "While I still think it's a great opportunity, right now it would require a level of commitment that I can't offer."
His final message was: "Best of luck to everyone involved and may the best team win! " Following this, Rahm took the world of golf by storm when he inked a record smashing deal with LIV Golf.
The deal also consisted of Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton making a commitment to his Legion XIII team, another star initially pledged to play season one of TGL prior his removal from the league in February.
After the acquisition of Aberg, Woods and McIlroy are now on the hunt for another PGA Tour star to round off their team following Hatton's exit. World No.1 Scottie Scheffler has not yet committed to the innovative circuit, with notable players such as Jordan Spieth and Viktor Hovland still not included.
