It was a busy day for Woods as he had to finish five holes from round one after bad weather called a halt to play early on Thursday.

That might have affected Woods' game as he found his ball nestled in between the trees on Hole 9.

His recovery shot fared no better too as it landed amongst spectators, possibly hitting one in the head.

Woods, 48, still managed to par the hole and had a successful day, finishing one over par after hitting 72.

That meant Woods made the cut at The Masters for a record 24th time in a row.

He said of his chances of winning a sixth green jacket: “It means I have a chance going into the weekend.

“I’m here. I have a chance to win the golf tournament. I got my two rounds in. I just need some food and some caffeine, and I’ll be good to go.

“I’m right there. I’m only eight [shots] back as of right now (at the end of his round)

“I don’t think anyone is going to run off and hide right now, but it’s really bunched. The way the ball is moving on the greens, chip shots are being blown, it’s all you want in a golf course today.’’

Friday's frontrunner Bryson DeChambeau lost his lead after the second round and is now tied for first place with Max Homa and tournament favourite Scottie Scheffler.
