Even though Chelsea are suffering a slump in form, one positive taken out of their recent 1-1 draw away to Crystal Palace was Jadon Sancho bagging another assist.

The former Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund man was restored to the starting lineup after Joao Felix was given a starting berth at Everton, and he set up Cole Palmer who opened the scoring.

Sancho let the ball run through his legs on the touchline, bypassing Palace defender Chris Richards before he beat the American again and attracted three members of the opposition prior to flicking a pass to Palmer to score.

It was a passage of play reminiscent of the Sancho of old, who convinced United to fork out £73million to sign him from Dortmund.

His three years at Old Trafford did not go to plan, however. The once-upon-a-time creative force managed to provide just six assists in his 83 United appearances in all competitions.

And Sancho has now added to Utd's misery as he has already reached that tally out on loan with Chelsea in just 15 matches.

No United player this season has set up more goals than Sancho at Chelsea, with Amad Diallo’s six matching the former England international.

Bruno Fernandes is the only other player to have registered multiple assists in all competitions for United this season, underlining their need for more creativity at a time when Sancho has been loaned to one of their rivals.

Enzo Maresca appears to have been able to get the best out of Sancho, who has worked hard in order to oust Felix and Pedro Neto from the starting lineup on the left.

"He's a very good coach and he understands players but he's very hard on you if you don't do the right stuff,” Sancho told Sky Sports of Maresca last month. “I feel like every player is buying into how he works and is eager to learn.

"My first talk with him I got a good feeling, a good impression so I wanted to play under him. It was just like when I entered the room I felt his aura, his presence, especially when he's talking to you because he's played the game so he has a lot of experience. He can teach all the guys something, so I feel like it was good."

Sancho is currently on loan at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea are obligated to sign the 24-year-old for £25m at the end of the campaign to put an end to his miserable United tenure.
