Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has praised the Red Devils for their spirited performance against Liverpool, which ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Anfield. The result marked a significant improvement for Ruben Amorim's side, and the ex-England international hopes that it kickstarts his former side's resurgence as he called for players to 'put demands on each other everyday'.

Despite recent poor performances, including a disappointing loss to Newcastle, the Red Devils appeared rejuvenated on the pitch. Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo scored for the visitors, matching the Premier League leaders blow for blow.

Many had predicted a defeat for United at Anfield, but the team's performance exceeded expectations. Ferdinand, a former title-winning player with United, took to social media to express his views.

He said: "That's what I want to see from @ManUtd. They have shown what's in their when they show spirit, desire, effort and some quality in possession. These players have set the standard that needs to been maintained now....the players will feel that performance and know the standard."

He further urged the players to hold each other accountable and strive for consistency in training and on match days. He added: "Now they have to govern that changing room and put demands on each other everyday in training and every match day. There will be a satisfied (maybe some feeling could have had more) feeling on that coach home. Remember what it took to create that feeling. Keep building confidence and understanding day by day. Ps. Utd better team today."

Bruno Fernandes has spoken out following the team's impressive performance against Liverpool, echoing the sentiments of Ferdinand.

He stated that if they can perform at such a high level at Anfield, there's no reason they can't replicate it elsewhere: "If we show this level at Liverpool, first in the Premier League, then why can't we do this everywhere.

"We have lost too many points. I'm pretty upset. It frustrates me and finally I did a proper performance. We know how tough it is to play Liverpool, but we put in a real effort and played with some passion and heart. We can't stop here. We have to bring this heart, passion and frustration to the next game."
