Ruben Amorim won't want to waste any time moulding Manchester United into his vision across the two transfer windows in 2025. United will be braced for a busy winter and summer, where Amorim will have the opportunity to start chopping and changing Erik ten Hag's squad.
Sporting's superstar striker Viktor Gyokeres is expected to feature near the top of the 39-year-old's wishlist, but he won't be the only one.
Express Sport has a go at picking Amorim's potential dream starting lineup once he welcomes his first wave of reinforcements.
GK: Andre Onana
Andre Onana's vast improvement has been one of the shining lights in a dark season thus far. His proactive style should suit his new boss' plans perfectly.
RCB: Leny Yoro
Leny Yoro's highly anticipated competitive debut is on the horizon. The 19-year-old possesses the pace and physicality to help him excel as the right-sided centre-back.
CB: Goncalo Inacio
Matthijs de Ligt is a strong option for Amorim, but with centre-backs so crucial to his system, it would be surprising if he doesn't recruit at least one of his own. No defender has featured more under the Portuguese coach than the left-footed Goncalo Inacio.
LCB: Lisandro Martinez
Lisandro Martinez is another of Ten Hag's signings who should get on well under new management. His left-sided nature is a bonus, but his ability on the ball will prove valuable.

RWB: Geovany Quenda
Signing two out of three in this fantasy lineup. Geovany Quenda has been a prodigy since Amorim oversaw his promotion to Sporting's first team. The ultra-talented teenager could follow him to Manchester and continue as the wrong-footed wing-back in his detailed system.
CM: Manuel Ugarte
Manuel Ugarte and Amorim have already publicly discussed their mutual excitement over reuniting at Old Trafford. The ex-Sporting midfielder has shown promising glimpses since his £51m move from Paris Saint-Germain.
CM: Kobbie Mainoo
He is the frontrunner to be the long-term partner of Kobbie Mainoo, who Amorim is widely expected to build his team around, just as Ten Hag started to do. If another new midfielder arrives, the 19-year-old could also operate as one of the two attacking midfielders.
LWB: Luke Shaw
The left-wing-back position is the biggest uncertainty. Luke Shaw is the obvious candidate, but can he stay fit? Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot have covered his absence well, but Amorim could enter the market for a replacement.
RAM: Amad
One of Amorim's attacking midfielders at Sporting is a traditional winger. Amad and Alejandro Garnacho represent two attractive options for years to come. Marcus Rashford, of course, is also in the picture.
LAM: Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes should continue as one of the first names on the team sheet. The club captain has the potential to thrive in such an advanced position, as does Mason Mount, who proved as much under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.
ST: Viktor Gyokeres
It's difficult to see how Joshua Zirkzee suits Amorim's preferred explosive style of striker. Rasmus Hojlund does fit that mould but remains raw and can't be trusted to lead the line unchallenged. Gyokeres to United links will likely rumble on until the moment he completes a summer transfer.
