Jamie Carragher was up to his usual tricks, attempting to ruffle the feathers of Peter Schmeichel during a live broadcast. The iconic Manchester United shot-stopper was on punditry duty for CBS Sports Golazo, not for coverage of his son Kasper or Celtic, but he's always keenly following Brendan Rodgers' team.

Demonstrating his allegiance, Schmeichel was spotted keeping tabs on the early kick-off against Atalanta by sneakily watching the game on his phone while off-camera.

In a playful studio exchange, Carragher tried to catch Schmeichel off guard by loudly interrupting his interview with a false update: "Peter, Peter 1-0 Atalanta."

A bemused Schmeichel retorted, "You are kidding me? (Carragher in fits of laughter), is that right? Jamie, why do you do stuff like that? Seriously!" Carragher quipped back, "I just saw you had stopped watching your phone. You can never take your eyes off the game. It only takes a second to score a goal as Brian Clough famously said."

Schmeichel wasn't fooled, though, and responded, "That is very, very true but how do you know I stopped? I had the phone here (out of shot). You don't know what I do."

Carragher conceded" "You are right actually. I don't normally watch your interviews."

The banter between Schmeichel and Carragher, along with their fellow studio guests, brought a chuckle to the room. However, it was the iconic football personality who had the final laugh as his son and team secured a significant away point.

This result leaves Celtic in a strong position in the Champions League, having garnered four points from three matches. They now look forward to consecutive home games against RB Leipzig and Club Brugge, following a starkly different defensive performance from Dortmund just a fortnight ago.
