Kai Havertz has already hinted at his excitement over Raheem Sterling's arrival at Arsenal, having previously lavished praise on the winger during their Chelsea days. Sterling sealed a dramatic loan switch to Arsenal from Chelsea just as the transfer window slammed shut on Deadline Day, reuniting with Havertz at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Manchester City and Liverpool star is set to spend a season with the Gunners, aiming to propel them towards Premier League glory.

Havertz has openly admired Sterling's game vision in the past, telling Amazon Prime about his knack for delivering precise passes. He said: "I know what kind of vision Raheem has, he loves to place these balls," following an assist from Sterling that led to a goal in a 2022 Premier League match.

After Sterling's crucial goals against Leicester City clinched a win for Chelsea, Havertz was quick to commend his performance. He stated: "We needed goals, he scored two goals in the end and that's the most important thing. In the end, I think he did well and he helped us a lot today.

"It is very exciting [having a player like that around]. We have played four games and he has shown his quality today again.

"Sometimes it takes a bit of time to adapt 100 per cent, but he has adapted very fast and we can build on that in the future. We are all delighted for him. You can see in every training session how much work and effort he puts in, and he just deserves it.

"It is nice to play with him. He has lot of experience and knows how to move, and it helps you a lot if you have such experienced players next to you. His style of play suits us very well."

These glowing remarks from Havertz underline his belief in Sterling's value to Arsenal's title-chasing squad, citing experience and quick adaptation as key virtues.

Despite a summer filled with speculation about a new forward signing, Arsenal ultimately welcomed Raheem Sterling as a versatile attacker into their fold. It's unclear how important the England star's role will be in the team with competition fierce among the Arsenal front line - with Saka, Martinelli, Jesus, Havertz, Trossard and now Sterling all vying for three spots.

Mikel Arteta is optimistic that he can bring out the best in Sterling at the Emirates Stadium, having previously worked with him at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.

While Arsenal's match against Brighton is too soon for their deadline day signing to feature, there could be a chance for him to make his debut in two weeks' time when the Gunners face off against their bitter rivals Tottenham.
