With the Euro 2024 round of 16 in the can, we face a daunting two-day wait until the action resumes with an all-star quarter-final line-up in Germany on Friday. Turkiye stunned dark horses Austria on Tuesday night, leaving ex-Manchester United interim coach Ralf Rangnick feeling frustrated after full-time.

Turkiye will face the Netherlands for a spot in the semi-finals after Ronald Koeman's side cruised past Romania 3-0 earlier in the day.

Switzerland - who conquered holders Italy 2-0 last time out - also await England on that side of the draw after the Three Lions' last-gasp 2-1 triumph over Slovakia.

On the other side, Euro 2024 will resume with a mouth-watering tie between Spain and Germany, arguably the most impressive two teams at the tournament.

Spain ended Georgia's fairytale run with a thumping 4-1 victory, while host nation Germany professionally dispatched Denmark 2-0.

France - 1-0 victors over Belgium - and Portugal - who required penalties to creep past Slovenia - complete the fixtures.

Express Sport provides all the latest Euro 2024 news in the build-up to an exciting round of fixtures across Germany.

Jude Bellingham felt like Cristiano Ronaldo

Jude Bellingham has revealed he felt like Cristiano Ronaldo when he scored his stunning overhead kick to rescue England against Slovakia on Sunday.

The 21-year-old midfielder's last-gasp goal prevented a last-16 exit before Harry Kane headed in an extra-time winner.

"It was really instinct more than anything, it kind of fell in the perfect spot, it was a little bit behind me," Bellingham told the Diary Room.

"When I was in the air, I thought, my god, I'm like six feet off the ground, and it's like Ronaldo, but I watched it back, and I've still got one arm on the floor, so it wasn't the most acrobatic!

"But I think it was a nice contact and when I turned around on the floor and just saw it kind of rolling in, I thought oh my god - it was definitely one of the most important and memorable moments of my career so far."

Ralf Rangnick aims dig at quarter-finalists

Ralf Rangnick seemed to aim a thin-veined dig at England and some of the other Euro 2024 quarter-finals after his Austria side crashed out in the last 16.

Austria entered the knockout stages as the dark horses but fell to a 2-1 defeat against Turkiye.

It made up an all-star quarter-final line-up, although, England, France and Portugal haven't been near their best throughout the tournament.

Before Jude Bellingham's miraculous bicycle kick against Slovakia, Gareth Southgate's side looked set to be going home, having scored just twice in four games.

And Rangnick has aimed a dig at other teams at Euro 2024, accusing their matches of being boring compared to his Austrians.

He said: "I've seen other games when it was difficult to even stay awake. And that was not the case in our games."

Stewards filmed 'attacking' fan during game

Portuguese outlet Record have released disturbing footage of a Portugal fan getting punched and kicked by match stewards during Monday's win against Slovenia in Frankfurt.

The context surrounding the video that emerged on social media is unknown, but there appears to be another fan on the ground being held down by two stewards.

Meanwhile, a group of men were seen restraining a man against a wall as one landed punches to his head.

As he was taken to the ground, another steward started punching and kicking the individual while you could hear unhappy fans shouting behind the camera.

Good morning!

Good morning!

We've got a miserable two-day wait for more Euro 2024 action, so I hope everyone's staying strong!

There is plenty of news and updates to get at in the meantime, though, so stay tuned.
