UEFA have confirmed that the Serbian Football Association have been slapped with a £12,250 fine (€14,500) fine for two rule breaches during their Euro 2024 defeat against England.

Serbia suffered a 1-0 loss to the Three Lions in their Group C opener on Sunday night, with Jude Bellingham scoring the only goal of the match in the first half.

Less than 24 hours later, UEFA announced that they had initiated disciplinary proceedings against Serbia.

A statement issued on Monday stated: "Disciplinary proceedings have been instigated in accordance with Article 55 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR) following the UEFA European Championship group stage match between Serbia and England (0-1) played on 16 June 2024 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

"Charges against Football Association of Serbia (FSS): Throwing of objects, Art. 16(2)(b) DR, Transmitting a provocative message unfit for a sports event, Art. 16(2)(e) DR.

"The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) will decide on the matter in due course. Furthermore, an UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector will conduct a disciplinary investigation regarding alleged discriminatory behaviour."

And on Wednesday night, it was confirmed that UEFA had imposed a fine of £3,800 (€4,500) on the Serbian Football Association for the "throwing of objects", and an additional £8,450 (€10,000) fine for "transmitting a provocative message not fit for a sports event".

Albania had been slapped with hefty fines following their clash against Italy, which ended in a 2-1 defeat. A pryo was set off by the country's supporters after Nedim Bajrami's goal gave them an instant lead straight after kick-off.

A total fine of £31,580 (€37,375) was handed out to the Albanian Football Association, including £8,450 (€10,000) specifically for the "lighting of fireworks".

Further penalties included £10,457 (€12,375) for the "throwing of objects", £4,220 (€5,000) for a "pitch invasion" and another £8,450 (€10,000) for "transmitting provocative messages not fit for a sports event".
