Getafe coach Jose Bordalas was pleased with their 3-1 win at Almeria.
The result sent down Bordalas' former club.
He later said: "Indeed, we are very happy, we have achieved the club's goal of staying up. With five games remaining the team is mathematically saved. A year ago, as we were... we had suffered a lot and we must value what has been done this season.
"(Europe?) It's complicated, there are only a few games left. We are going to go step by step to see how far we are able to go. Today we have added, now to enjoy the rest of the championship, we are going to see how far we are capable of going."
On Almería's relegation, he added: "I want to convey my love to Almería, to its fans, it is a difficult and complicated day. All my support, I am sure that we will soon see each other again in the Primera Division."
