Liverpool managerial target Arne Slot has openly revealed his desire to replace Jurgen Klopp for next season and believes that an agreement will be struck between the Reds and Feyenoord. The Dutch boss has emerged as the frontrunner after Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim were ruled out of the race.

Feyenoord have won the Dutch Cup this season and sit second in the Eredivisie, nine points behind PSV with four games remaining. Returning Liverpool chief Michael Edwards and new sporting director Richard Hughes like Slot's profile and style and have identified him as the ideal successor to Klopp, who is leaving his role at the end of the season.
And Slot is determined to say goodbye to Feyenoord after four successful years at the helm - which included winning their first league title since 2017 - to lead a new era at Anfield with Liverpool.

Speaking to ESPN Netherlands, Slot said: "It's no secret that I want to go to Liverpool. The clubs are negotiating. We have to wait until an agreement is reached, but I have every confidence in that."
Slot's openness marks a stark contrast from earlier in the day when he was quizzed about the prospect of moving to Anfield but instead played down links to the Premier League.

When told that he had been in the headlines over rumours taking him to Liverpool, Slot smirked and replied: "I am, I can't deny that." He then insisted the only focus was on Feyenoord's upcoming match: "Tonight we are playing Go Ahead Eagles."
Slot, seemingly very keen to make the switch, has already received backing from Liverpool's captain Virgil van Dijk. "I find it hard to answer of course, but I think Arne Slot is perhaps one of the better Dutch coaches at this moment," the centre-back told Viaplay.
"I think the way of playing and the philosophy he has, that he could be a Liverpool coach. Only I think from what I read and hear is that it's still far from being completed. We shall see."
