has agreed to a contract extension at to will keep him at Villa Park until 2027 despite interest in the ex-Arsenal coach from .

Already two years into his existing contract, the four-time Europa League has become a prized commodity off the back of his impressive work at Villa.

This didn't go unnoticed by the club's owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, who were keen to safeguard their investment in him.

Emery assumed control of the Birmingham club during a precarious period in November 2022 when they were on the brink of relegation.

However, since then, he has steered them to the Europa Conference League semi-finals while they look set to secure an unlikely fourth place finish in the Premier League.

The rapid initiation of contract negotiations is believed to have been sparked by rumours of interest in Emery's services from clubs across Europe.

And Villa's owners have now secured the future of the 52-year-old with a renewed contract, reports the Mirror.

Emery quashed rumours of his association with the Bayern Munich job following Sunday's win over Bournemouth.

When asked about the ties with Bayern after the victory against the Cherries, Emery was unwavering. He said: "I am focused here, 100 per cent."

That came after Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl and Germany legend Lothar Matthaus had backed Emery as a serious contender for the role.

Matthaus praised Emery's credentials on Sky Germany saying: "I would get Unai Emery from Aston Villa. He's doing a great job there. He has a lot of experience - including internationally - and he has titles to his name with Sevilla, for example. He speaks perfect English."
