Luton boss Edwards: Players can handle relegation battle pressure

Luton boss Rob Edwards is confident his players can handle the relegation pressure.

The Hatters host Brentford on Saturday.

Edwards said: "You could say that. Also, we knew the fight we would be in so we are OK with it. We wanted to pick up more point, of course. Every team has said they have left points out there. I have seen a team grow in performance levels and compete with teams all season. That makes me very proud.

"The fact we are going into these games with as much of a chance as anyone fills me with confidence. Our supporters are completely on board with us, which I think is where we are very special. I don't think any other team can say they have had their fans on their feat applauding at the start and end of every game."

Whether they have to put more pressure on: "Yeah, you are right. We have talked about that openly and put it on them at certain stages, and they have responded well.

"We did that last season and they responded well. Players are realistic, they know the importance of these game. There's no point hiding from it, we need to make it bring out the best in us."

He also said: "Five wins would be lovely, but that is difficult. We don't have a crystal ball, we don't know what everyone is going to do.

"A lot of us playing each other over the next few weeks. We know we have to win some matches. How many that is, we don't know."
