Prospective Everton buyer 777 Partners have extended a target date to buy the club.
The investment group are hoping to see their takeover confirmed by the Premier League.
However, all the due diligence and analysis of the move has not been completed.
According to Sky News, 777 is looking to get the money it needs to wrap up the takeover.
There is a loan of nearly £160 million that will come due soon, but the group is looking to postpone the repayment deadline.
They are also looking to work with other investment groups to complete the takeover.
