When Roony Bardghji scored the goal which gave FC Copenhagen a 4-3 win against Manchester United in the Champions League, he not only made Parken Stadium explode, he also announced himself on a big international stage for the first time. And probably not the last.

“He has all the required assets to go very far," Sune Smith-Nielsen believes. He is Director of Development at FC Copenhagen, and his words are backed up by Head of Recruitment Mikkel Lund Køhler, who in an interview with Danish outlet Tipsbladet stated.

“Roony doesn't just have one skill, but several top skills at the highest international, age-appropriate level. He has unique timing in his one-on-one actions, he has great vision, a great left foot, he can kick at high speed and he doesn't have to use a lot of space."

Roony Bardghji came to the attention of FC Copenhagen when playing for small-town club Rödeby in Sweden but he opted for a move to Swedish giants Malmö FF before FC Copenhagen could get hold of him.

“We kept in touch though and at one point he stated his interest in a switch to us. So, we signed him up and then he blasted through the U17-league before doing the same in the U19-tournament," Smith-Nielsen tells Tribalfootball.com of the young Swede, who Chelsea FC at one point tried to get their hands on.

“I think it is fair to say that he could have chosen between just about any club in the world at that point," Smith-Nielsen believes of the boy who could be the next big thing to come out of Sweden - via Denmark and FC Copenhagen.
