Getafe coach Jose Bordalas was delighted with their 1-0 win against Girona.
Jesus Santiago was Getafe's matchwinner on the day.
Bordalas said: "I am calm because we have won. We have played a great game, I am convinced that the boys are giving everything. Permanence is not mathematically possible but we have taken a step to be a little closer.
"We must go step by step. Now it's time to enjoy because we go into the break with 38 points, in a very good situation and enjoy a few days and prepare for the next game and that's what we're going to do. Day to day is going for us to mark where we are going to be. The players are doing everything for that.
"Óscar is a footballer who has quality up front, he is fast and technically well gifted. We wanted to take the ball away from Girona, so they are not comfortable. In the first half we were able to have him and defend with the ball. Attack and combine well. We have been superior in midfield where they have very good players and they have been much superior to their rivals.
"A lot, it has a lot of merit. It has a great level, it has beaten very important teams. It has beaten Barcelona and very big teams. It scores a lot of goals, it has tremendous offensive potential. It has a lot of merit, it was a match very serious and without the ball. Many times we talk about styles and they make headlines and today we have taken the ball away from a Girona team that is not easy. It must be highlighted, I am very happy for the boys and the fans, support is essential. They've been that player twelve."
