Arsenal fans will only see home colours at the upcoming Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich. Bayern supporters have been banned from attending the game at Emirates Stadium due to past misbehaviour, specifically throwing fireworks onto the pitch during their winning match against Lazio earlier this month.

This is not the first time Bayern has faced such consequences, after they were fined £40,000 last October for similar actions during a victory over Copenhagen.

This event led UEFA to give Bayern a warning and a suspended one-game ban which became active after the incidents at the recent Lazio match.

Bayern accepted the punishment in stride. Club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen stated: "We have to accept this punishment. Not only were pyrotechnics set off, but also fired deliberately onto the field, directly endangering bystanders."

He added: "This was such an explicit violation of the conditions of probation that an appeal is unfortunately futile. The fact we now have to play away without the support of our fans is a big blow. A small group of individual offenders have done a disservice to all our supporters and the team.", reports the Mirror.

In a boost for the Gunners, Arsenal are allowed to fill the away end with their own fans. This means Mikel Arteta's team will have the support of a full 60,000 capacity stadium.

Bayern have faced Arsenal many times in Europe's top club competition, but may be less confident as they travel to north London without their fans. The Gunners will aim to use this advantage in the first game.

Arteta's team made it to the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in 14 years after defeating Porto in a penalty shootout in the last 16. Bayern had a more straightforward progression, beating Lazio 3-1 on aggregate in the previous round.

The match between the Bundesliga champions and Premier League title hopefuls is the first time Kane will face his old north London rivals since leaving Tottenham in the summer.

The England captain was always a problem for Gunners defenders during his Spurs days and will aim to cause more trouble when he returns in a Bayern shirt.

While this is not an easy match for either side, Arsenal will be confident that they can beat Thomas Tuchel's team and will be relieved to have avoided teams like Real Madrid and Manchester City.

The winner of this two-legged match will face either Los Blancos or City, as the path to the final has already been drawn.
