have been left with a decision to make about the future of , after Julian Nagelsmann’s future plans were reported ahead of Euro 2024. Nagelsmann is one of several names being linked to the Old Trafford hot seat, as the pressure continues to build on Ten Hag following the arrival of .

The ex-Bayern Munich coach is gearing up for a busy summer, with Nagelsmann set to lead Germany into a home European Championships. Having replaced Hansi Flick last year, Nagelsmann’s foray into international football came as somewhat of a surprise, given his standing in the club game.

But, according to Sky Sport Germany, Nagelsmann is keen to return to club football following this summer’s European Championships, with the 36-year-old even hoping to announce his next move before the tournament gets underway.

The report claims that Nagelsmann is keen to decide where he’ll be managing for the 2024/25 season before the conclusion of the current campaign. That’s because the Bavarian-born coach is keen to ensure he isn’t distracted by any ongoing negotiations during the competition, meaning his full focus can be with the German national team instead.

Of course, that throws up its own set of problems for any potential suitor, as it means any pre-season plans will be put on hold until Nagelsmann has finished up with Die Mannschaft. Regardless, interest in Nagelsmann’s services is still believed to be high, with United one of the sides said to be considering an approach, should they ditch Ten Hag at the end of the campaign.

The Dutchman has been under increased scrutiny ever since the INEOS group arrived at Old Trafford late last year, with talk of a managerial change beginning to pick up. United have struggled for form at times this season, with performances and results often left wanting, but Ten Hag’s future could ultimately be decided based on the club’s financial situation.

A report from The Times has suggested the cost of sacking Ten Hag may rise as high as £10million, meaning the ex-Ajax chief could be kept in the job, as United look to keep one eye on their FFP situation. It comes after United announced a 23 per cent rise to their second-quarter wage bill, which increased primarily because of the club’s participation in the 2023/24 Champions League - a competition they were knocked out of after finishing bottom of their group.
