Chelsea are set to hire new set-piece coaches.
Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino is unconvinced by the need for the appointment.
But the Telegraph says Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali are now in talks with potential hires.
The set-piece department will operate across the entire club, rather than focusing solely on the senior team.
Pochettino said last month: "We work a lot on set-pieces. We have specialists.
"We are a coaching staff in charge of everything. We have a group of analysts for set-pieces.
"After that, it is about the quality of the player. It is about the takers. We don't have a specialist."
