Valencia coach Baraja: We're ready for Real Madrid; our fans were called unfair things

Valencia coach Ruben Baraja hopes for a classic against Real Madrid.

Valencia have gone nine games without losing at home, while Real Madrid has not lost away since September.

Baraja said, "The first half in Madrid was good, regardless of the result. We had options and created chances. But in the second half we did not compete well and we gave them the opportunity to make the score wide.

"That bothered me, because Real Madrid normally has many chances to win, but you can't help them make that happen. But this game is different, a different scenario. We know how difficult the game is, but we will face it with a great mentality at Mestalla with our fans. If we touch perfection, we will have options."

On Vinicius Jr's return after last season's controversy, Baraja also stated: "In the end we have explained this situation many times. We know what happened and how Valencia acted to stop that situation.

"We have remained firm that it was not fair to be called things we are not. These things have helped us learn, I imagine also for Vinicius, who is a magnificent player and knows the club he is in. That is an episode that unfortunately happened and it should help us all to look into the future, learn and focus on sports, which is our main objective."
