are reportedly interested in appointing Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann to replace . The 36-year-old, who is also on 's radar, could be back on the managerial market after Euro 2024 this summer.

Nagelsmann took charge of the national team in September last year with a view to reassessing the situation after the Euros. The German's CV boasts spells at Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich.

Despite his tender age, Nagelsmann has been a top-level head coach since 2016. He is both the youngest manager to take charge of a Bundesliga side and a Champions League outfit, winning a league title and two German Super Cups during his time at Bayern.

With Nagelsmann's future up in the air, top sides pondering managerial changes are keeping tabs. According to Bild, Newcastle are interested in moving for the Germany boss this summer.

Nagelsmann is yet to decide whether to sign a longer-term deal with the national team or return to club football. He is believed to have taken a sizable pay cut after leaving Bayern last year.

Newcastle would be getting their hands on a manager with serious pedigree, as German football expert Philipp Hinze told Sky Sports: "He's very good to be in the mind of the players, he's near the age of players and knows them very well.

"His speeches before and after the game in the locker room are very good. He was a mastermind. In Leipzig, they said to me he had an awesome, outstanding mentality."

The Magpies could face a fight with Liverpool over Nagelsmann, with the Reds compiling a list of alternatives in case they are unable to lure Xabi Alonso away from Bayer Leverkusen. The vacancy at Anfield is sure to spark serious interest from top managers all over the world as Jurgen Klopp prepares to depart.

Although it is not yet clear whether Newcastle will look to replace Howe at the end of the season, a poor run of form has raised questions over his future. After finishing fourth in the Premier League last season, the Toon are currently 10th with only one win in their last four games.

Injuries have played their part this campaign, but the availability of big names on the manager market could prove too tempting for Newcastle's mega-rich Saudi Arabian owners.
