Manchester United investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe has joked at the expense of his bidding rival.
Ratcliffe and his INEOS group won out in the process to try and buy into United.
The Glazer family, who still own the controlling stake in the team, have facilitated the sale of 27.7% of the team to Ratcliffe.
On his bidding rival and Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim, Ratcliffe joked to the BBC: “Still nobody's ever seen him, actually.
“The Glazers never met him... he never... I'm not sure he exists!"
Jassim was thought to be a figurehead for the Qatari royal family, who were unsuccessful in their bid to buy United.
