and overhaul at will accelerate once the ratifies the 71-year-old tycoon's £1.3billion investment this month. Change has already begun within the walls of Old Trafford, and Ratcliffe is reportedly keen to oversee a former United employee's return as part of the shake-up.

INEOS could officially inherit total control of the club's football operations as early as this month but have already made an impact in M16.

Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc have been regular figures around Carrington and at matches since United announced the deal on Christmas Eve.

The former is reportedly conducting an audit of the club's structure to help decide on what appointments are required to lay the foundations of a successful project.

INEOS worked with the Glazer family, who remain majority owners after Ratcliffe's 29 per cent stake is passed, to appoint Omar Berrada as Richard Arnold's replacement as chief executive.

The capture of Manchester City's chief football operations officer has been widely viewed as a significant coup and an early statement at the dawn of a new era at United.

And more off-field recruitments are on the horizon, including a new director of football, as INEOS look to lure best-in-class figures to Old Trafford.

Among them could be Ipswich Town's head of recruitment, Sam Williams, who previously worked at United as an analyst and scout.

Fixing the club's below-par recruitment across the last decade is among Ratcliffe's priorities at the start of his passion project, which Berrada and a new director of football will spearhead.

According to reputable EFL reporter Alan Nixon, Williams is on United's radar, having supported Ipswich Town's recent rise from League One strugglers to Premier League promotion hopefuls.

Williams has worked at Portman Road since April 2022 and has also gained experience at Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers.

United share a good link with Ipswich, who signed Brandon Williams on a season-long loan and Axel Tuanzebe on a free transfer last summer.

Before that, Kieran McKenna left his role as one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's most trusted coaches to pursue a management career, landing at the Tractor Boys.

The 37-year-old has mightily impressed, winning 65 of his 114 games in charge, losing just 18 times and scoring 218 goals.

Leicester City are the runaway Championship leaders on 72 points, but Ipswich are involved in a three-way race for the second automatic promotion spot with Southampton and Leeds United.

McKenna has worked wonders, but the club's successful recruitment will have also played an influential part in their recent fortunes, and United have reportedly paid attention.
