risks the wrath of legend John Terry if he chooses to sack . The former Blues captain insists Pochettino is a "great manager" who needs to be given time by the club's ownership.

The West Londoners have got off to a laboured start to life under the Argentine tactician. At the time of writing, they sit ninth in the Premier League table with 9 wins from 21 games.

This comes despite Chelsea spending over £1billion on players since Boehly and co took over at Stamford Bridge in May 2022. Yet there are signs of smoother waters on the horizon.

The Blues have won four of their last five league games and are within touching distance of the European places. If Pochettino can secure a top-seven finish this year then many believe he will remain in a job, which would delight Terry.

Speaking about his former club at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai earlier this week, Terry said: "Unfortunately, Chelsea are a little bit off it at the moment.

"But given time, the manager needs time, Poch is a great manager, I've seen him work on a daily basis. We are a young squad of players as well, but we are a long way off of the likes of Man City and Liverpool at the moment."

According to the Telegraph, Pochettino's job is currently not in doubt as Chelsea remain in competition for a place in Europe next season. However, it is unclear what will happen if this goal is not achieved.

Terry would advise the Pensioners to stick by Pochettino after already improving Chelsea's fortunes following a woeful 2022/2023 campaign, which saw them finish 12th in England's top-flight, their lowest finish since 1994.
