Manchester United are confident of tying Marcus Rashford down to a long-term deal. The forward's current contract expires at the end of this season but the Red Devils have the safety net of being able to trigger a one-year extension.

He has eight goals to his name in 19 appearances in all competitions under Erik ten Hag.
His performances led to a recall to the England squad for the World Cup in Qatar, where he has three goals in four matches. But as he improves on the pitch, there has still been uncertainty on where his future lies.
But Express Sport understands United chiefs believe they will get Rashford to sign a new contract. They will first activate the one-year clause in his current deal to ensure he will not be able to leave on a free transfer next summer.

After a difficult 2021/22 campaign, the 25-year-old has appeared in all 14 Premier League matches so far this term, starting 13 of them.
But continued doubt over his contract situation has led to interest from elsewhere. Paris Saint-Germain are long-term admirers of the forward.
And PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said this week that he will look to speak to Rashford's representatives in January if a free transfer was a possibility.
Al-Khelaifi told Sky Sports: "He's another player that is really amazing. And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.

"Today if he's a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we're interested we will talk to him."
Rashford was left out of England's starting XI in the 3-0 round of 16 win over Senegal last Sunday. He is in contention to come back into the side for the quarter-final against France on Saturday.
