The Biden administration’s wholehearted support of Israel’s war on Gaza stands against what most of the rest of the world describes as genocide. In the Israeli prime minister’s own words, they seek to “blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.”

As Americans we are currently witnessing and being primed to accept a mass atrocity, and we are literally paying for it with our taxes.

Israel has now decided to start bombing Rafah, just a few weeks after telling millions of Palestinians to evacuate to that very same city in the south. We must remember that historically most of the people now living in Gaza have already been displaced from other parts of Palestine and were themselves refugees well before last year’s Hamas attack.

As a Jewish person I will never stand with Israel, and I am in disbelief that my own government is funding a war on Palestinians — actual semites. The irony of claiming that Israel “defending itself” is a fight against antisemitism makes my blood boil.

How dare these politicians weaponize real atrocities against Jews to justify mass acts of violence!

If we were actually afraid of real antisemitism then we would demand Israel ceasefire yesterday so the world doesn’t continue to have a very good reason to hate the Jewish people running the Israeli government, or the young Jewish people shooting guns for the IDF, or the confused Jewish people around the world sending money to Israeli settlement projects.

None of this will create safety for Jews.

If the Democrats expect our votes, then they need to stand on the right side of history (the side that decries genocide, in case you didn’t get it).
