With the first yacht sale of the show worth $5.8M (THB 200M) on the first morning, plus three BMWs sold by dealer German Auto, and wine partner Edenko happily reporting “a record-breaking number” of bottles sold (he won’t say how many!), the long-awaited (2.5 years!) Thailand Yacht Show Pattaya 2022 has already been a big success for our partners and exhibitors – and we’re only halfway through!
Howard Prime - Thailand Country Manager of Simpson Marine is delighted to announce: “The opening day of the show was excellent with great brand visibility and the launch of the Simpson Sailing Academy – we have 3 Beneteau sports yachts available throughout the show for demo sessions with qualified instructors. The academy will be teaching a range of courses from beginner to advanced levels. The first yacht sale of the show for Simpson Marine was a magnificent new lagoon 51 sailing catamaran being reserved for a customer. We are very happy to again support the Thailand Yacht Show and their efforts to put on a great show despite the difficulties of the last two years, and we look forward to the second edition of the show later in the year in Phuket.”

TYS Pattaya 2022 B2G Forum signals
a bright future for yachting in Asia!
With over 1,600 attendees on the first two days, there was a buzz in the air and a sense of positivity and optimism about the future of yachting and the superyacht industry in Thailand and Asia.
The open forum B2G “round table” at the Renaissance Hotel in the morning was greatly appreciated by more than 70 participants from government and private sectors together with yachting industry leaders from amongst the TYS exhibitors.

Representatives from the EEC Office and the Ministries of Tourism and Sports and Transport alongside local government officials all reaffirmed their support for Verventia’s efforts to grow the industry in Thailand. The announcement that the Saudi-Thai Investment Forum last month together with the Yacht Tourism project analysis from Verventia has resulted in an engagement to provide funding for yacht tourism infrastructure was more great news well received indeed.
Secretary General of the EEC Office of Thailand, said in a letter to Verventia CEO Andy Treadwell following the B2G Forum on Thursday: “I am certain that your determined hard work and dedication will result in a successful and fruitful event… I would like to assure you of three main important aspects… the Thai government has insisted on setting up Thailand’s yacht and marina hub development plan in Phuket, Samui and Pattaya, a vital policy regarding the yacht and marina hub of Thailand in the future. …Therefore, you can rest assured that your projects… will receive full support and will be put as one of the main priority projects of EEC.”
Mr Treadwell commented: "I think everybody is generally very happy at the end of the first day of TYS 2022 - a lot of serious buyers have turned up, and some really good sales have been reported by several of our long-standing exhibitors and new partners alike. The past two and a half years have been very difficult, but this new-found promised support for the future, together with the return to face-to-face business and networking, with everybody out smiling, enjoying themselves in the sunshine here in Pattaya, is a welcome relief. We are all looking forward to the next two days, at the end of which hopefully everyone will appreciate how much bigger and better everything would be if we could all work together as a joined-up industry.”
