N in Macau, a city steeped in history along the Maritime Silk Road, the POLY MGM MUSEUM opened in November at MGM MACAU is a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation brought to life through a collaboration between the Poly Culture Group and MGM. This museum isn’t merely a collection of artifacts, but a showcase of Chinese intangible cultural heritage and a platform for intercultural dialogue.

Setting the bar high, the museum upholds Chinese national standards for exhibiting grade-one cultural relics, establishing itself at the forefront of China’s cultural connection to the world. It embodies a blend of East meets West, antiquity and modernity, virtuality and reality, and culture and technology, creating an immersive exhibition experience with state-of-the-art technologies.

The inaugural exhibition, “The Maritime Silk Road—Discover the Mystical Seas and Encounter the Treasures of the Ancient Trade Route,” transcends geographical, chronological and cultural boundaries, offering the audience a captivating journey through history, present developments, and future prospects of the ancient trade route. Collaborating with nearly 20 national museums and international cultural institutions, the exhibition boasts a collection of 228 artifacts and artworks in 184 sets. Among the highlights are nearly 30 grade-one cultural relics, including the renowned four Bronze Zodiac Heads of the Old Summer Palace.
